SciKnowTech, a city-based experiential learning initiative by Dr Megha Bhatt, ends its academic year for Science & Math with SciKnowFest – a carnival to showcase the students’ learning and leaning toward science in association with American Corner-Ahmedabad & other partners, where more than 170 projects by children from Grade 2 to 10 are to be showcased. 11th April 2021 marked as the inauguration day for the carnival with two renowned speakers from the field of science and innovation. The first speaker, Professor K. N. Joshipura is a Retired Professor and Ex-Head, Department of Physics, Sardar Patel University & Currently the National General Secretary of the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT). He talked with the young learners about the need for creative and application-based experiential learning and the importance of exposing children to innovative learning tools and techniques, asserting with the philosophy of the academy “Exposure leads to Exploration & Exploration to Innovation”. The second speaker of the session, Mr Harshal Sanghvi, is a passionate research scholar at Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, USA. He is also the Founder of EssenceTech, a startup Expert at IIC, IGNOU, and Incubation Manager at Shodh Incubation Center. Mr Sanghavi spoke to the children of different moments of Eureka! and the value of innovation in science. He told the young minds that it is important to be better than yesterday and about learning from the expert scientific minds. The session was moderated by SciKnowTech founder Dr Megha Bhatt & ended with a formal vote of thanks to all the associate and creative partners of the fest and reassurance of many such exciting sessions to be held this week.
